Protest 1996

        Statement of Dragan Tomic,
        President of the Serbian Parliament

"the fascistic ideology was never satisfied with the democratic process, the democratic elections; it always took power by force instead."

"Belgrade is now demolished, the windows on the bulding where TV is housed are smashed, smashed are the windows of the "Politika" building, other windows are broken, do you remember when they destroyed that private bakery in Nis, they threw a Molotov coctail on the building of the ND city council, and all that happened after the call of Mrs. Draskovic."

"What is worst in all this is that the children are being manipulated. They are taking out the children; please, we already saw that scenario at Kosovo, but also in the nearer history. Just remember Hitler's coming to power, it was the same scenario. Every time they are talking in the name of democracy, but resort to violence."
